nTop Heat Exchanger

A customer needed help creating an air-liquid heat exchanger using nTop. He provided a sketch with the overall geometry and the desired inputs and outputs. The exchanger geometry was generated entirely in nTop and a gyroid was applied. The design was parametrized using heat transfer equations to drive the surface area of the internal gyroid to control the amount of heat transfer to match the design requirements. The design was later 3D printed in metal and is currently undergoing testing.
